It’s not, perhaps, the only reason Harrogate was named ‘Happygate’ recently but the launch of the annual Harrogate Comedy Festival next week is set to put a smile on thousands of people’s faces.

Packed with star names such as Jimmy Carr and Sarah Millican, organisers Harrogate Theatre say this year’s two-week feast of laughter looks likely to be the most successful to date when it starts on Monday, October 5.
