Ont Sofa have been responsible for some of the best gigs and most progressive thinking on the Harrogate music scene for a good, couple of years now but tonight, Thursday, Marxh 13 at Jakes they’re presenting a show which promises to be particularly memorable.

Next up in the Jakes Unplugged series at this café-restauarant on Oxford Street which aims to combine musical and gastronomical excellence is a real-life Justin Timberlake protégée.

Tonight’s live event starring Esmee Denters, who hails from the Netherlands, combines live music plus food.

It’s quite a coup for the music sessions website Ont Sofa and the cafe-restaurant on Oxford Street. This talented young female singer has scored top ten hits around Europe since she was ‘discovered’ by Justin Timberlake aged just 18.

The support acts maintain the high standard, too, being Yorkshire-based singer-songwriters Skinny Living and Cheshire-based Fabian Belassie.

The evening starts with each act singing one song in turn to the seated diners.

After supper is served, the musical stars then go up to the actual sofa to perform their sets.

Although standing only tickets are available the prized seats are, indeed, the seats.

With numbers limited to 50, tickets always go fast and no wonder, Ont Sofa’s Ben Davis and Jason Odle together with Jakes’ owner Dr Suzanne Knowles have come up a great concept in an intimate setting.

Doors open at 7pm. Tickets are on sale at www.jakesunplugged.bigcartel.com
