CLASSICFest isn’t only guaranteeing Harrogate audiences the likes of Evita, The Phantom of the Opera, The Pirates of Penzance and The Merry Widow, not to forget a packed Fringe programme, it’s also reaching out to the district.

Running from August 18-31 from its twin bases of the Royal Hall and Harrogate Theatre, it’s just announced two out-of-town shows.

A Night of Operetta will take place on Saturday, August 17 at Masham Town Hall. Featuring principal soloists from the world famous Ferenc Liszt University of Music in Hungary, the programme promises a musical journey across Europe featuring the best of operetta.

Fusicals will take place on Sunday, August 18 at Richmond School and is a celebration of all time favourite musicals from the West End performed by Fusion Theatre of Northern Ireland.

This is the second year CLASSICFest has happened in Harrogate and is the work of the team behind the hugely successful International Gilbert & Sullivan Festival in Buxton each year.

In fact, this year’s production of The Pirates of Penzance at CLASSICFest on Monday, August 26 is the one which opened in Buxton recently.
