It’s become a regular part of the festive calendar and this year’s joint concert between Harrogate Symphony Orchestra and the Harrogate Choral Society is bolstered by a welter of young singers from local primary schools.
In total 330 pupils will be singing with an orchestra of 80 and a choir of 120 in this family Christmas concert at Harrogate International Centre this Saturday, December 14.
The children hail from 17 schools in Harrogate. Knaresborough and surrounding villages. For many of them, this will be the first time they will have performed in such a large and imposing venue or with a big orchestra and choir.
The programme includes carols sung by the children, carols sung by the choral society and seasonal music performed by the orchestra.
The well-known and loved carols are included and the audience are invited to join in.
The second half of the programme includes items in which all the forces join together to make music as a massive ensemble.
A special guest visitor is also expected to make a surprise appearance, as is only proper at such a festive event!
l Tickets for Saturday’s concert, which starts at 7pm, are available from Harrogate Theatre Box Office or book securely online at www.harrogatetheatre.co.uk
