A funky time for all at Limetree Festival

NORTH Yorkshire’s funkiest family-friendly festival at Limetree Farm at Grewelthorpe, will be able to welcome more festival goers than ever before in its fourth year to enjoy a line up of local, national and global jazz, soul, funk, dubstep and folk artists, bands and DJs.

The Limetree Festival site, set in a natural conservation area near Ripon, is doublling in size, allowing 2000 people to enjoy the vibrant yet relaxed and sociable atmosphere over the bank holiday weekend, August 26-281.

The main Green Man stage hosts some of the bigger names including, and making their Limetree debuts, ethnic eletronica from Transglobal Underground; The Fantastics who have performed live on BBC sessions for Mark Lamarr and Craig Charles; Mercury and Brit award nominee jazz singer Carleen Anderson, modern folkies Belinda O’Hooley & Heidi Tidow, and merging the sounds of jazz, blues, folk, funk and pop Krystle Warren.

There will be two new stages this year’s event - JB’s World Music Stage and Yorkshire Gig Guide’s small acoustic stage which is run by pedal power.

The five stages have been programmed back to back with regional and international artists, focused on taking revellers back to how festivals used to be when music was at the heart of the event.

There will also be a separate camping area this year and a events for toddlers and teenagers
