Organisers of the Armed Forces Weekend celebrations in Ripon have announced a Spitfire from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight will be part of the closing ceremony on Saturday, June 27.

The weekend celebrations begin on Friday, June 26 at Holy Trinity Church when there will be the third Armed Forces Day Concert in Ripon.

This will feature the award-winning Ripon City Band and the Dishforth Military Wives Choir. Tickets are £5, available at the door and you will need to be seated by 7pm.

On Saturday, June 27, as well as the military stalls and activities in Market Place from 10am-4pm, there will a raffle stall for all ages plus a special ‘Despicable Me 2 Minions’ raffle for the children. There will also be a climbing tower, bouncy castle and the ‘caving experience’.

Armed Forces Day is a charitable event and if you or your company would like to support the event financially or by an in-kind donation, organisers say your support is most welcome.
