A student from Ripon Grammar School has been busy planning and organising a local music and arts festival in his bid to raise money for an expedition to help orphans in Cambodia.
The Summer Sound 2012 event –organised by Jordan Booth, aged 16, takes place at Ripon Racecouse on Saturday, June 30, from 3 - 10.30pm.
The venue has been provided by Livius Events and the entertainment line-up features music from local and national bands including headliners and upcoming band My Forever; rising female solo star Farrah – who has toured with Made in Chelsea’s Caggie Dunlop; and Frances Wood – a former contestant on BBC’s The Voice who was coached by American hip hop musician Will.I.Am.
As well as two stages of live music there will be food stalls including local ice cream parlour Flo Ice, clothing, entertainment, dance and circus workshops, and inflatable assault courses.
Jordan is aiming to reach his £4,000 fundraising target for his World Challenge expedition to Cambodia in July to assist the Cambodian Orphan Save Organisation.
