The Mad Hatter’s Café Bar in Ripon introduced a quirky new offer for the festive
season – an advent calendar of promotions to tempt
The Mad Hatters, on Kirkgate, will be celebrating its first Christmas this year after opening up in August as an eclectic new music venue.
The café bar – named after one of Lewis Carroll’s most memorable characters – will offer festive delights for customers throughout December, including free tea and coffee, pancakes and maple syrup with every breakfast, garlic bread, mince pies, champagne and cut-price drinks.
There will also be the chance to win a free buffet on one evening during December, between 7-8pm.
Owner Gerard Bannigan – who also runs Squiffy’s Wine Bar on Duck Hill – said: “We’ve really been welcomed in Ripon as a great place to eat and to drink, as well as to enjoy our great music.
“We have plenty of room – as well as our front café space we have a warm, enclosed terrace and an intimate cellar bar – so there’s plenty of opportunity to sample our food, have a glass of something or a coffee, and see what great advent offer is unveiled when you’re here.”
In addition to the advent offers, The Mad Hatter’s has a loyalty card scheme. A customer who buys 20 alcoholic or non-alcoholic drinks is treated to a free breakfast.
“We want to make everyone welcome,” said Mr Bannigan.
