“We have big ambitions for the show. Last year’s launch was a steep learning curve for us but we were motivated by the feedback we got from visitors telling us the North really needed an event like this.

“We have taken on board the suggestions and made improvements, but the heart of the show is all about the love of photography, whether you’re a professional or just love snapping away with your mobile.”

For 2019 the show has been expanded to three days and will include masterclasses from award-winning experts on everything from food photography to establishing yourself as a new artist.

Peter continued: “With Christmas looming large we’ve also got some great gift ideas. We’re hosting pop-up portrait sessions where you can have a quirky family portrait taken for just £20.

"And we’ve teamed up with Harrogate Film Festival for a screening of It’s a Wonderful Life on Sunday afternoon. We really want the whole town to get involved with the Festival - it’s definitely for everyone.”

Photo North Festival opens at Harrogate Convention Centre on Saturday at 10am and runs until 5pm on Monday December 2.

The event also includes, portfolio reviews, indie market stalls, book signings, live music, food and a bar.
