The ex-Old Grey Whsitle Test presenter’s links with Harrogate have been strong for many years, mainly through his close association with Wally, the town’s most famous rock band of the 1970s, and its lead singer Roy Webber.

The two of them have been close ever since Harris helped secure Webber’s Harrogate-based countryesque folk-prog outfit a contract with Atlantic Records in the early 1970s, co-producing both their classic albums.

Harris also introduced both their reunion shows.

Bob Harris said: “The Harrogate studio means we can welcome touring artists who, perhaps, can’t stop off to record in Oxfordshire.”

The new studio is, potentially, the highest-profile ever to be situated in Harrogate.

Its facilities go well beyond just recording music to offer mastering and mixing, composition and arrangements, video production and recording (on location or studio.
