Thousands of music fans feared the day-long Harrogate Fake Festival may have become a victim of a wave of concern over the terrible state of the Stray at West Park after the UCI world cycling championships.

The popular annual event featuring six of the nation's top tribute bands to famous rock and indie acts was moved to Killinghall Moor Country Park last summer to enable the Stray to be used for nine whole days during the UCIs - as per the stipulations of the Stray Act.

But the organisers of Harrogate Fake Festival are now tweeting their delight that the event with its giant marquee will be back at its regular home on the Stray next year.

They say they will be presenting this nationally-franchised music event on Saturday, July 18 on a part of the Stray near York Place not affected by the UCI cycling.
