Phoenix Players prepare for the show

The stage musical, first performed in 1988, has played to packed houses worldwide being translated into many languages.

Most of the cast of the Phoenix Players’ forthcoming production of FAME! – the Musical, were not born when the show was launched but the narrative is as relevant today as it ever was.

Based on the real La Guardia High School of the Performing Arts in New York, the story follows the final dance, drama and music students of the academy as they learn what obstacles must be overcome, what sacrifices must be made and what challenges must be faced to achieve their final goal.

The show vibrates with energetic music, dance and humour. So dig out your leg-warmers, shoulder pads and crop-tops and get your tickets.

Fame! - the Musical is playing at Harrogate Theatre from Thursday February 6 to Saturday February 8.

Tickets are on sale from the theatre box office on 01432 502116 or https://www.harrogatetheatre.co.uk and a donation from ticket sales will be made to Martin House Children’s Hospice.
