Nick said: “The whole team are so excited about getting started now. The response we’ve had from local listeners and local advertisers has been absolutely fantastic and we’re ready to give Harrogate a local radio station to serve the whole of the district.”

After originally launching Your Harrogate as a digital platform last October with a weekly podcast, prize competitions with local businesses and regular videos, the seeds of this new independent radio station have grown to the point where Nick says he is ready to champion the town again on its airwaves.

“I know from being on air during the first lockdown how many people use the radio for company and to cheer them up a bit during such challenging times”.

Nick said he was looking forward to once again waking up Harrogate every weekday morning on the Breakfast show. Nick’s show will set listeners up for the day with local weather, travel reports, school news and more.

Among the presenters joining Nick on Your Harrogate will be Ricky Durkin, who will be back on Afternoons including regular travel bulletins.

Daytimes will belong to Knaresborough’s Pete Egerton.

As a keen Harrogate Town fan, Pete will have the latest club news in his show.

But the biggest news, perhaps, for the launch of Your Harrogate will be Weeknights when there will be a welcome return for one of the town’s most popular presenters, Alex Cann, who was on the air for over a decade in the district as a colleague of Nick’s in the glory days of Stray FM.
