Lesley Garrett tops the bill tonight in Harrogate village's top class festival

Northern Aldborough Festival star Lesley Garrett CBE will take to the stage at St Andrew’s Church in Aldborough near Boroughbridge.

After missing out last year because of the pandemic, it’s been a welcome return for this enjoyable festival with high standards labelled "the North's leading classical, jazz & blues music" which has returned with real events under Covid restrictions.

Having launched on Monday with a performance by The Haffner Ensemble and pianist Danny Driver, followed by an appearance last night, Wednesday by he former Communard turned cleric Reverend Richard Coles of BBC Radio 4 fame, the festival continues until Sunday.

Still to come are Viktoria Mullova (violin) and Misha Mullov-Abbado (double bass) tomorrow and the event’s late night outdoor concert on Saturday in the stunning grounds of Aldborough Manor when audiences can let their hair down a little to the sounds of The Roozzers, the UK’s number one tribute to Sting and The Police, with support from So 80’s.

"We have an incredible line up of artists, including some of the music industry’s biggest names alongside up and coming talent from around the region.

“From the opening night performance by oboist Nicholas Daniel’s Haffner Ensemble to the Last Night’s ‘80s themed revelry, the 2021 Northern Aldborough Festival promises an exhilarating ambience, all the sweeter for the novelty of the live, shared musical experience.”
