Harrogate's Natalie is teenage singing sensation in London
A Harrogate teenager who won a place at a prestigious music school in London is seeing her dreams of becoming a success start to come true.
Talented Natalie Tuvey, 17, who left Harrogate Grammar School after completing her GCSEs, is currently in the semi-final stage of The UK Songwriting Competition whose judges include Grammy, Emmy, BRIT and CMA Award winning, gold and platinum album producers and artists.
Natalie, who started singing and writing her own songs while a pupil at Bilton Grange Primary School, left for London in summer 2015 after winning a place at East London Arts & Music Academy in London ELAM.
Co-founded by Will Kennard from Chase & Status, being a student there means Natalie is now getting the sort of musical experiences worth their weight in gold.
Natalie said: “East London Arts & Music has changed my life in a way that I will remember forever.
“I have collaborated with some incredibly talented producers and songwriters this year but the journey is not over yet, this is just the beginning.”
It’s not just her singing which has been impressing big industry names, it’s her songwriting skiklls.
Since arriving in London, Natalie has already performed live at some of the most famous venues in the city such as The Troubadour, The Half Moon, The Garage, The Borderline.
And she has recorded tracks set for release and made a couple of TV appearances, including Balcony TV.
Natalie, whose own favourite singers include Jack Garratt, Lianne La Havas, James Blake and Kwabs, still has another year at college to go.
In her ‘spare time’, she is busy writing and recording at her home studio.
