Harrogate Theatre to engage with community in new Raise the Roof season at church halls, library, bars and more

Harrogate Theatre s doors may still remain closed; though only due to the fact that this much-loved Grade II listed Victorian venue is having its old roof lovingly replaced in a transformative £1 million project.

But it has decided to take its performances out into Harrogate to engage with its audiences foe the first time since the pandemic began at a number of accessible venues and via digital recordings and streaming.

For those bored of the four walls of lockdown, Harrogate Theatre offers a variety of forthcoming 'real' performances at Odeon Cinema, St. Wilfrid's Church, Harrogate Library and Cold Bath Brewery, all under the umbrella of its Raise The Roof season.

People can enjoy dance, spoken word, film, puppetry, aerial theatre and music from the comfort of your own sofa, or experience them in a completely different setting as you’ve never seen them before, in line with current regulations.

Harrogate Theatre, which first opened its doors on January 3, 1900, believes there is something for everyone this season.

It's fervently gearing up to throw open the doors as soon as possible this year as lockdown eases, but to, whet everyone's appetites, it now has a digital What’s On Guide for future events.
