VIDEO: Golf Tips: Session Twelve - Reading the green

Wetherby Golf Club course professional Mark Daubney provides his latest golf tip, with the help of sport reporter Ed White.

This week golfers are taught how to read the putting green.

Daubney says: “To be fair, a lot of the skill of reading a green comes from experience and seeing what gradients do to a ball.

“However, if you find you have real trouble working it out or are just starting the game, here is a great little tip.

“Imagine you are throwing a big bucket of water from your ball towards the hole, which way will that water run?

“This gives you a starting point as to what the ball will do and then you can aim accordingly.”
