Harry Ettridge fought at the Pavilions Thai Boxing event as co-main event, and won his fight against Luke DeBourgh from Kettering.
The fight was for the vacant EMF English Pro-am Title and both men weighed in at 62.5kg at the previous days weigh in.
When the fight began, it was apparent that Ettridge was stronger, with DeBourgh choosing to hit and move to stay away from the powerful techniques of Ettridge.
Ettridge, who fights out of the Kao Loi Gym in Hornbeam Park, cut down the ring effectively and scored with some strong kicks and knees.
This continued into the third round and it looked as if the power shots might be too much for DeBourgh, but he rallied well enough to draw the fourth and win the last.
However it was not enough with all the judges unanimous in finding the Harrogate-based athlete the winner.
“I am so pleased with my win this weekend and I’m looking forward to winning more titles,” he said.
“I’d like to thank my coach Pierre Mahon for all his help at Kao Loi Gym, and for all my friends for their support.”
He added, “My next fight is only three weeks away and I can’t wait to get back to the gym to start preparing.
“We have a great team atmosphere at Kao Loi which really helps when we are training hard.”
Coach Pierre Mahon said: “Working with Harry has been terrific so far because he is so focused and motivated to improve.
“We are lucky at Kao Loi because we have some excellent role models at our gym for the juniors to look up to, and Harry is certainly one of them.
“I am looking forward to seeing how far we can all go together.”
