Ripon City assistant boss Daniel Metcalfe has welcomed star midfielder Adam Robinson’s return from suspension in his side’s quest to beat the drop.
Robinson was sent off in the last minute of the 2-2 draw against Aberford Albion for a deliberate handball in the box.
The incident resulted in a penalty that was duly dispatched by Arran Hudson to rescue a point for Albion.
Having only just returned from an injury, sustained before the season, the ban came at a bad time for City, who are bottom of the league.
However, the City assistant believes the midfielder’s presence back in the starting line-up against Featherstone Colliery on Saturday will provide the team with a big lift.
“He’s an experienced guy and someone who improves the players around him,” Metcalfe said.
“We should have a near fully fit team for the game.
“It’s undoubtedly a huge match and with it being at home we think we can achieve a positive result.
“Adam, along with the other lads, feel this is an opportunity to turn our fortunes around and we’ve got a good feeling about the weekend.”
