Paolo Di Canio’s star-studded Sunderland will visit the CNG Stadium in the summer to headline Harrogate Town’s pre-season campaign.
The Premier League side, who currently sit perilously close to relegation in 17th, will play Town on August 7 (kick-off 7.30pm).
Town have also announced fixtures against three Championship sides with Barnsley, Blackburn Rovers and Sheffield Wednesday all due to visit the CNG in July.
Town will play relegation survivors Barnsley on Saturday, July 13 before Rovers a week later on July 20 and The Owls on July 24.
Conference side Lincoln City have also been scheduled in to play Town on July 16 but the annual John Smith’s Trophy against neighbours Harrogate Railway has yet to have a date set.
The club have also announced striker Colin Larkin has left to join Gateshead.
Larkin joined Town in March and made 13 appearances in black and yellow.
But he struggled to find the target and his debut strike against Bishop Stortford was his only goal for the club.
Meanwhile, Former Town boss Neil Aspin lead his FC Halifax Town team to promotion in Sunday’s Blue Square Bet North play-off final.
Aspin’s side beat hosts Brackley 1-0 with former Harrogate Town loanee Lee Gregory scoring the only goal.
Elsewhere, Hednesford Town earned promotion into Blue Square North as they beat FC United of Manchester 2-1 in their play-off.
