Simon Weaver's team didn't do enough on the night to break down opponents who were happy to sit with 10 men behind the ball for the most of the night, dropping down from sixth to eighth place in the League Two standings as a result.

Here's an assessment of how the Town players performed at the EnviroVent Stadium.

James Belshaw 6 - Didn't have a save of any note to make, but dealt competently with a number of balls into his box.

Ryan Fallowfield 7 - Made some well-timed tackles and picked out Jon Stead with one superb cross from the right, which really ought to have led to Town breaking the deadlock.

Will Smith 7 - Won plenty of headers but he didn't have the easiest of nights up against Stevenage's determined lone striker, Marcus Dinanga.

Connor Hall 7 - Pretty sound in his defensive work and typically unflustered in possession. Hit plenty of long, diagonals passes out of defence, though wasn't accurate enough in doing so.

Warren Burrell 7 - ADVERTISER STAR MAN. Won't be happy with how easily Elliot List ran past him during one rare Stevenage attack in the first half, but that moment aside he defended solidly. Made an excellent block inside his own box shortly after the interval.

George Thomson 6 - Cut a frustrated figure at times. Was vocal in urging his team to up the tempo, however he couldn't really get into the game. Set-piece delivery was mixed.

Josh Falkingham 7 - Wasn't able to dictate the play like he so often does, but worked as hard as anyone to try and force Town into some kind of rhythm.

Connor Kirby 6 - Neat and tidy for the most part, a few loose first-half passes aside he didn't do much wrong. That said, he couldn't provide the bite and edge that Lloyd Kerry so often brings to the engine room.

Calvin Miller 6 - Started brightly with a promising early run down the left, though he failed to influence proceedings thereafter. Another one who just never really got going.

Jack Muldoon 7 - Tried to drop off into what little space there was between Stevenage's back-four and five-man midfield so that he could link the play. A couple of decent moments on the half-turn and was accurate with his passing without ever really looking like scoring.

Jon Stead 6 - Didn't fare all that well in the air up against the visiting centre-halves and missed Harrogate's clearest opportunity of the game when he headed wide from a chance that he had to do better with.
