Harrogate Town boss Simon Weaver admitted he was ‘disappointed’ to see his team’s heads drop in the second half of their disappointing 3-0 defeat at Solihull, writes Rebecca James.

Two goals for Omar Bogle and one from Ryan Beswick were enough to seal all three points for the Moors.

Bogle broke the deadlock against the run of play with a magnificent strike on the 24th minute shortly after Harrogate were forced to take off captain Shane Killock.

Killock picked up a dead leg on the 16th minute, and despite attempting to play on, Leigh Francis had to replace him three minutes later.

Harrogate started the stronger of the two sides, with Chris Hall heading just over Jasbir Singh’s crossbar in the early minutes.

The Moors’ keeper was tested soon after as debutant Steve Mallory’s shot on goal was heading for the bottom corner but Singh was able to palm the shot around his right hand post.

The goal came as a shock to the away side and they failed to regroup as the Moors started to break down Town’s defence.

Bogle sent Gary Birch through on goal but the midfielder’s sliding effort was unable to beat Craig MacGillivray.

After the break, the Moors still struggled to clear their lines and push forward but on the 72nd minute the home side saw their lead doubled as Ryan Beswick latched onto Birch’s ball into the box and swept past MacGillivray’s near post.

Bogle bagged his second of the game on the 89th minute.

MacGillivray did well to palm away Aron Wint’s initial strike however Bogle was unmarked and in the perfect place to calmly slot home into the right hand corner.
