More than 40 children from Thirsk Falcons Juniors had an exciting afternoon on Easter Saturday at the Riverside Stadium.
They had been invited by Middlesbrough Football Club to wave flags in a procession before the match and to form the guard of honour as the Boro and Cardiff players came onto the pitch. Children from the Thirsk Falcons Under 12s team, along with a couple from the Under 11s and Under 13s, played an important part in the day as they were ball boys for the Championship match.
The youngest children taking part were from the Falcons Fledglings group, set up to introduce three to six-year-olds to football.
They really enjoyed taking part in the procession round the pitch and waving their Boro flags.
Thanks to everyone at Boro for organising such a great day for the Falcons players.
The only disappointment was the result, which didn’t go well for Middlesbrough.
