BOROUGHBRIDGE AFC have made significant changes to their management staff with boss Daz Ekin adding Marcus Philpott to his team and Lee Brook and Tony Coles taking on the mantle of Reserve team and A Team managers respectively.
The first and reserve teams will play in the West Yorkshire League with the A team continuing in the Harrogate League.
Ekin will be hoping for another successful season on the pitch.
Last term, ‘Bridge lifted the Whitworth Cup and League Cup in an eventful two weeks.
Plans are already in place for a swoop for more trophies in the forthcoming 2011/12 campaign.
Pre-season training starts on July 4 and 6 with a 6.30pm meet for a 7pm start at the club.
Players at all levels from the well experienced to those who have just finished playing at Junior level are welcome.
There is plenty of opportunity for development and anyone interested should contact Tony Coles, in the first instance, on 07712770989 or for further information the website which is www.boroughbridgeafc.com
Meanwhile Harrogate Premier League outfit KIRKBY MALZEARD have also announced grand changes off the pitch this week.
Young manager Andrew Thomson will take over the reins as first team boss with former ‘Bridge man Olly Barton joining him as his assistant.
Jordan Hunt- who finished last year as caretaker first team boss- will step back to manage the second team.
Shane Hayden will work alongside him as his number two.
Chairman John Pickard said he was delighted with the appointments as they plan a more successful campaign on the pitch than last year.
“There’s been a major reshuffle,” he said.
“We’re pleased to announce Andrew will take over the first team.
“He has been involved at the club since he was 16. He had to stop playing a few years ago due to injury but he’s a bright, young manager.
“We’re all very excited.
“He’s won things, got the T-shirt, it’s a good appointment.”
Kirkby will commence pre-season training starting next Tuesday at the back of Trinity and Saint Wilfrid’s School in Ripon until the start of the 2011/12 season.
All new and old players are welcome to attend.
“We’re all looking forward to itt,” said Pickard.
“Hopefully as many new players as possible will come down.”
