RIPON City pulled off a crucial 3-0 victory over Kellingley Welfare on Saturday to put daylight between them and the relegation places at the bottom of the West Yorkshire Premier League.

A brace from George Medd and another by Tom Leeming sealed the important win.

Charlie Brown’s side will be looking for more of the same on Saturday when they welcome Altofts to Mallorie Park.

RIPON RESERVES drew their Saturday fixture 1-1 and their Sunday team put one over rivals Boroughbridge with a 3-2 victory.

BOROUGHBRIDGE meanwhile will be looking for an immediate comeback after they lost on Saturday away at Beeston.

Daz Ekin’s men slipped up 3-1 in Leeds to leave them just above City in the table.

On Saturday they travel to Keswick Lane for a mouth-watering clash against Bardsey in the West Yorkshire County Cup quarter-final after Martin Bradley’s men beat Carlton in the last round.

Bardsey are currently chasing the quadruple this season.

In the Harrogate & District League KIRKBY MALZEARD drew 4-4 with Knaresborough Celtic.
