A YOUNG composer has reached a crescendo after his symphony won a prestigious music competition.
Northallerton College Year 12 student Chris Loader composed a Spanish symphony which was voted the best piece by the North Yorkshire Schools Symphony Orchestra.
Influenced by Rodrigo and Bizet, the eight minute composition, took six months to write.
The 16-year-old, of Ingleby Arncliffe, then had the pleasure of performing his work with a full orchestra of the county’s most talented musicians, under the direction of world celebrated conductor Simon Wright.
“It was strange but amazing to hear my work performed. Winning has made me think seriously about what has always been just a hobby. I’ve decided to take music A Level, which I wasn’t planning to,” he said.
