nursery youngsters are celebrating after their Christmas tree was voted category winner.
Children at Happy Jays Nursery in Boroughbridge took part in the Boroughbridge Christmas Tree competition, designing and making their own Christmas tree to fit in with the competition theme of past, present and future.
They made candles and sewed decorations for the past, painted baubles and decorated it with lights for the present and did handprints to represent the future.
They also decided to add a virtual element by painting the top of the tree as an i-pad.
The children then helped staff member Laura Hare to build the tree from card and paper before taking it to St James Church, Boroughbridge ready for voting.
Nursery manager Andrea Proctor said: “The staff and children put a lot of hard work and effort into making the tree, with some excellent ideas from the children. We were all very proud of the finished result.”
