Wine tasting success

A charity wine tasting started a new fundraising year in style for Tockwith and District Agricultural Society.

Tockwith Show president Sarah Burckhardt organised the night which gained £1,400, including more than £750 from a raffle, for her chosen charities Yorkshire Air Ambulance and the Farming Community Network.

Sarah said: “The Wine Tasting Evening was a sell-out – just short of 80 people bought tickets and could have sold more.

“I can’t thank everyone enough for all their help, donations and support on this evening. In particular, Peter Maclennan of Yorkshire Vintners and Dean Hullah of Tancred Farm Shop, and the Spotted Ox, Tockwith, gave us a lot of support.

“I’m so pleased we were able to raise so much money for the two charities. There are a few more fundraising ideas in the pipeline for the next few months.”
