Firefighters had to be called to remove a sign over a footpath in Ripon at the weekend during the strong winds.
The sign, outside the Royal Oak pub on Kirkgate, was hanging dangerously over the public footpath outside the premises.
A member of the public spotted the danger and called 999 at about 10.15am on Sunday, May 22.
Ripon firefighters arrived at 10.20am and within five minutes had used a nine-metre ladder to take down the sign.
Firefighters were called out again the following day (Monday, May 23) when another sign hanging over a pavement – located at the corner of Market Place and High Skellgate – was left loose due to the winds, at around 7.40pm. The crew used a triple extension ladder to make the sign safe.
