The shock death of much-loved comedian, actress, singer and songwriter, screenwriter and director Victoria Wood has revived memories of her Harrogate connections.
Born in Prestwich in Lancashire, Wood, who died today aged 62 brought her ‘Probably The Last Tour’ tour to Harrogate International Centre.
Famed for award-winning series on the BBC such as sitcom Dinnerladies and Victoria Wood As Seen on TV, one of her final series in 2013 also saw her come to Harrogate.
The documentary A Nice Cup of Tea saw Wood sampling Taylors’ famous tea.
A long-term collaborator of Julie Walter, Victoria Wood died after a short battle with cancer.
