5. River Crimple catchment
The flood alert for the River Crimple and its tributaries including Horn Beck, Clark Beck, Hookstone Beck, Rud Beck, Toad Hole Beck and Park Beck remains in force. Flooding of low-lying land and roads is possible from Tuesday 19/01/2021. The river has risen in response to recent rainfall, and with persistent and heavy rain forecast to continue through until Thursday 21/01/2021, we expect river levels to remain high and could rise further. 6. River Spen and Batley Beck catchments
River levels are forecast to continue to remain elevated in the River Spen and Batley Beck Catchments as a result of persistent rainfall. Further rainfall is expected throughout today (20/01/2021) which will elevate river levels further. Consequently, flooding of property, roads and farmland is possible. Areas most at risk are low lying land, roads and farmland. Our field teams have checked defences and cleared screens ahead of the rainfall and we are liaising closely with our partners to ensure they are ready to respond. Please put your flood plan into action and activate any property flood protection products you may have, such as flood barriers and air brick covers. 7. Tidal River Ouse from Naburn Lock to Selby
The flood alert for the Tidal River Ouse from Naburn Lock to Selby remains in force due to high river levels following rainfall and snowmelt from the weekend. The level in York will rise again on Wednesday 20/01/21, following rainfall on Monday and Tuesday. Levels at Naburn will remain high. Please be aware that persistent and heavy rain is forecast until Thursday 21/01/2021. We expect levels to rise significantly. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and do not drive through flood water. Please see the GOV.UK website for a 5 day flood forecast. 8. Tidal River Wharfe
The flood alert for the tidal River Wharfe remains in force. Flooding of low-lying land and roads is possible from Wednesday 20/01/2021. Levels are expected to rise in Tadcaster until Wednesday afternoon or evening, and levels are starting to rise slowly around Cawood. Persistent and heavy rain is forecast to continue through until Thursday 21/01/2021, and river levels on the tidal Wharfe could remain high through the week.
