This week former Ripon resident Jack Gooch wrote to the Gazette with a plea for more speed control on the roads around Ripon.
Mobile and static speed cameras and unmarked cars make the roads safer, he said, and all drivers would be better off with stricter controls.
“North Yorkshire’s policy seems to be to leave the motorists to themselves – and just look at the results. Belive me, control is absolutely essential, everybody is the safer for it,” he added.
Do you agree? Would more speed camera make roads safer, or are they just a nuisance to drivers?
