Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile is back – and it’s coming to Ripon.

The city is set to host its second event on Sunday March 20, and needs local people to come together and make themselves proud by entering now at

Organiser Matt Simpson said: “Local heroes from Ripon will be walking and running themselves proud during the Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile to raise life-changing money for Sport Relief 2016,” said a Sainsbury spokesman.

“The colourful, cheerful and eager Milers will be doing their bit to make a difference to people living across the UK and the world’s poorest communities.”

Setting off from Ripon Leisure Centre, the Ripon Mile will follow a route around Camp Close playing fields on Dallamires Lane and is set to be an incredible event.

Matt added: “From little ones with their mums and dads, to runners up against the clock there’s something for everyone to make themselves feel proud on this special day.”

Sport Relief is back from Friday 18 to Sunday 20 March and organisers say there are more ways than ever for people to take part.

Half of the money raised will be spent in the UK with the other used in the world’s poorest communities.
