A mother of four from Ripon is on a mission to talk about her own aromatherapy journey as part of Aromatherapy Awareness Week.
Izzy Anderson is the founder of the Mindful Fox where she now aims to share her story with others and empower them to also take control of their health with natural solutions and mindfulness.
Izzy launched Mindful Fox last year.
Her approach is to mix mindfulness training with essential oils.
She has seen first-hand how essential oils can transform the way you manage your health and wellness.
Aromatherapy is using essential oils and plant extracts to treat a variety of different conditions. The oils can be used for massaging, in creams, lotions and oils for applying to your body, in baths, steam inhalation, aromatic spritzers, diffusions and inhalations.
She said: “My business combines mindfulness training and essential oil education to help women and families take control of their health.
“I have seen how pure essential oils are revolutionising the way families manage their health. I harness nature’s most powerful elements and combine this with a mix of mindfulness training and healthy living.
“I discovered mindfulness and the effectiveness of essential oils after hitting rock bottom. I went through a turbulent time which included; the loss of my best friend to brain cancer, being involved in a road traffic accident whilst pregnant and with my three children left me suffering with adrenal fatigue, chronic pain and being diagnosed with Post-traumatic stress disorder and after the birth of my fourth baby postnatal depression.
“I did receive amazing help from my health visitor and GP but didn’t feel comfortable taking the strong medication which was being recommended.
“Doctors diagnosed me as depressed and wanted to prescribe more and more drugs… but I had had enough of thinking that drugs were always the answer.
“It was on a playdate with a friend that I was introduced to the calming influence of Frankincense and Balance (a blend specific blend made of trees). Within seconds the relief I felt from the topical application and inhalation of these oils was extraordinary.”
Izzy will be at the Mind and Body Well-being Fair on Sunday 24 June at the Yorkshire Hotel in Harrogate.
