Ripon marked the Diamond Jubilee in style yesterday as hundreds flocked to the market square to take part in city’s spectacular celebrations.
The square was closed all day to make way for celebrations, which began at 10.30am with the first of the heats for the soap box derby.
The party continued throughout the day with a parade of 1950s classic cars, performances from the Ripn City Band, Swing Duo and Queen tribute band Mercury.
The final of the soap box derby took place at 4pm, before the square was cleared for the evening celebrations.
The Setting of the Watch ceremony took place as usual at 9pm, with a potted history of the ceremony, and the day ended with the National Anthem and a fireworks display over the Town Hall.
