The session will include stories and rhymes delivered by the library staff and a representative from 21 Engineer Regiment based at Claro Barracks in the city.
A spokesman for North Yorkshire library service said: “Ripon played a large part in military life in the First World War as it was the site of a very large training camp, through which a high proportion of British and Commonwealth soldiers passed on their way to France.
“The camp covered most of what is now the southern portion of Ripon, although little physical trace remains.”
The session will take place on Friday, November 15, from 10.30am in the library children’s area and it will be followed by a craft activity.
