Cloud the cat made the headlines after jumping in a Sainsbury’s delivery van at his Harrogate home and ending up in Otley.
After a month spent searching for him round Harrogate, Otley and even Huddersfield to no avail, Cloud’s owner Moira Morgan had almost given up hope.
Then, on a quiet Sunday night and after 30 days away, her 11-year-old daughter Francesca spotted a grey cat lurking in the bushes outside their home on Green Lane, Harrogate.
Upon inspection, the family were elated to find that Cloud had finally finished his incredible 20-mile round trip and had miraculously found his way safely home.
Thousands of women signed up to Race for Life as they took part in the annual fundraising event at The Stray to support Cancer Research UK.
There was a nail-biting finale in the Knaresborough Bed Race as it celebrated a special anniversary year.
The 50th running of the now globally famous race saw the Planet Steel team edge victory by a margin of a third of a second over Harrogate Harriers.
The race saw 90 teams of six runners and a passenger take on the 2.4 mile rugged course around the town which culminates in a 20 yard swim across the often chilly waters of the Nidd.
Organised by the Knaresborough Lions, the event is estimated to have raised up to £100,000 for charities.
Prior to the race, teams gathered with their decorated “beds” at the castle and then paraded to Conyngham Hall fields where they were stripped down ready for action.
