Pupils and staff from Gateways School successfully completed a coast to coast cycle ride from St Bees Head to Flamborough Head.

The 200 miles ridden by the Harewood schoolchildren was to raise money for Martin House Hospice for Children and Young People.

To date, around £1,000 has been donated and it is hoped that this sum will continue to grow.

Sophie Bull, L5 commented: “The coast to coast has been one of my favourite trips with school.

“Not only was it great fun and a laugh with your friends and the teachers, but you raised lots of money for charity a long the way.”

Boston Spa-based Martin House cares for children and young people with life-limiting conditions from across West, North and East Yorkshire, including respite stays in its hospice, support in their own homes and bereavement care for families.
