Pupils get tips from tour cyclists

Budding cyclists at Fritchley School who have been taking part in a Bikeability scheme travelled to Yorkshire to watch the Tour de France pass through.

The mini Bradley Wiggins’ have been using pedal-less balance bikes to develop their skills and some were taken to watch the tour last weekend by their parents.

Children were confident enough to run and scoot around cones while riding the bikes. Some even dared to lift both feet off the ground while balancing on the two wheels! Although some are already able to ride a bike, they all had great fun whilst developing their cycling skills.

Inspired by this year’s Tour de France, some of the children were venturing up to Yorkshire this weekend to pick up some extra cycling tips. Maybe we will see one of them in a yellow jersey in a few years time. Watch this space!
