Ripon Green Party members have announced they have jointly selected a parliamentary candidate with the Skipton and Craven Green Party.
Andrew Brown is a retired senior education officer from Cononley in Craven who the members say is “considered the progressive alternative for the Skipton and Ripon constituency”.
Ripon Green Party press officer Elizabeth Barclay said: “Fast-growing membership and support has made it possible for the Green Party to stand a General Election candidate in Skipton and Ripon constituency for the first time.
“Andrew has lived in the constituency for over 20 years. He is passionate about environmental issues, inappropriate planning schemes, education and the NHS.
“Our policies on the economy, environment and equality are winning over more and more voters.”
