Friends brave the shave
Friends Andrew Waite and Michael Brown braved the shave recently to raise over £1,500 for Macmillian and help support their brothers who are both undergoing cancer treatment.
Andrew, who runs the Sandwich Box in Pateley Bridge joined with his friend to have their heads shaved to support the charity.
Andrew said: “We would like to say a big thank you to all who have donated, to Russ Pool who designed the poster to promote the event and to Andrew Smith at Beauty Boutique for donating his time and skills to shave our heads.
Andrew’s brother Martin, who works in agricultural finance, was diagnosed with lymphoma in October 2020 and has had to have six rounds of chemo.
Micheal’s brother David was diagnosed with leukemia in 2019 but is having to head back into treatment.
Both Martin and David have received help from Macmillan either by supporting their family or via treatment at the Sir Robert Ogden Macmillian cancer care unit.
