Last year’s event, which helps boost the funds at Macmillan Cancer Support, was cancelled due to the Coronavirus restrictions.

Spokesman Alice Ackernley said: “It is a particularly special year as it is the 25th anniversary of the concert.

“It starts the festive celebrations with choirs and musicians from Aysgarth and Queen Mary’s Schools.

“The first concert was put together by Lady Zetland and a committee of friends in 1996, it is still supported by the Duchess of Devonshire, who is our patron, some 25 years on.

“Over the last 20 years it has steadily grown in size and status and now annually entertains a sold out audience of 800 guests.”

To date the concert has raised £430,850 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Alice added: “Sadly due to Covid restrictions, the concert was unable to go ahead in 2020 but we are delighted to announce that in line with current government guidance, the concert will return in 2021 to celebrate its 25th Anniversary, and it promises to be another spectacular evening.”
