New equipment just '˜purr-fect' for CATS show
Ripon Youth Theatre's next show CATS will be spectacularly staged, thanks to a generous donation of sound and lighting equipment from Lightwater Valley Theme Park.
The award-winning group will be performing a youth production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s
entertaining and fun musical CATS at 2pm and 6.30pm on July 2 and 9 at their new premises in Allhallowgate, Ripon.
CATS is a fabulous show which allows the group to showcase the talents of its members. There is superb singing with powerful vocals and energetic dance routines including talented tap dancers and agile gymnasts.
Lightwater Valley’s donation will add the finishing touches to the polished performances, bringing an explosion of light and music to the RAOS Hall which is the perfect setting for the junkyard home of the Cats.
Mark Bainbridge, General Manager at Lightwater Valley, said: “Following the refurbishment of the Lightwater Theatre into our new Funkey Monkey’s Soft Play and Café we were very pleased to be able to help out a local theatre group by donating our equipment.”
RYT director, Phill Ruddy, said: “The equipment from Lightwater Valley has come along just at the right time and is perfect for this show.
“The members work really hard and are very talented, and it’s great we can now support them by providing the staging to make this a spectacular show.”
Featuring a cast of more than 40 local members, CATS promises to be fantastic entertainment for all the family. Tickets are £10 or £36 for four, from www.riponoperatics.org/ryt or Alan’s Gallery, Kirkgate, on (01765) 690498.
