Mystery £1m donation to Killinghall charity centre

An ANONYMOUS donor has given £1m towards a training centre for reformed addicts which is being built in Killinghall.

The £1.95m Horizon Life training centre at Kennel Hall Farm will offer courses in joinery, welding, bricklaying, agriculture, catering and IT to former drug and alcohol abusers.

More than 1,000 people have contributed to the cost, including an anonymous benefactor who donated via a family trust.

Site worker Chris, who has benefited from the charity’s work, said: “A year ago, we were addicts with no hope, now we are living lives with plans and a future.”
