Any Questions?: November, 30 at Melmerby Village Hall at 7.30pm. Chaired by Judge Sean Morris, this is St Mary’s Church version of the popular Radio 4 programme. The panel will include Julian Smith MP, Conservative MP for Ripon and Skipton, Professor Diane Willcocks, CBE, former Vice Chancellor of York St John University, Della Cannings, former Chief Constable of North Yorkshire Police, Chris Snowden, political commentator and member of Institute of Economic Affairs. There will be a reception at 7pm with the opportunity to meet the panellists. Tickets £10. Melmerby Christmas Fair: Sunday, December 2, 2-4pm in Melmerby Village Hall. Fabulous raffle prizes as well as tombola, bottle stall, Christmas gifts and a cafe selling delicious homemade cakes. Santa will be waiting in his grotto! All proceeds in aid of Friends of Ripon Environment and Heritage, fighting the possible development of wind turbines on the fringe of Ripon. Melmerby Play and Pre-School: run a toddler group every Friday afternoon between 1-2.30pm welcoming children 0-four-years old and their carer. The Little Gym of Harrogate will be running a free taster class at the toddler group on Friday, December 7 at 2pm. Bring along your little ones and join in the fun! Wath Christmas Tree Switch On: Sunday, December 9 at 4-6pm at Samwaies Hall. Celebrate the festive season by turning on your Christmas lights as part of the Wath Christmas tree switch on and then come and enjoy mulled wine, roast chestnuts and festive cheer. Father Christmas will be there to meet the children.
