Village Life Help: help is needed to deliver copies of Village Life along the main road in Melmerby. Only a few minutes is required each month to deliver about 60 copies-even if you can help with only some of these, please contact Glyn Hopper on 01845 567462.

Christmas Carols: a big thank you to all who took part in carol singing around Wath at the end of last year especially Keith, Linda and Keri Graham who provided the musical accompaniment. A fantastic £185 was raised for church funds.

Lent Course: Mondays from February 18 at the Samwaies Hall in Wath. For five consecutive Monday evenings on the theme of “The Power of Small Choices” the course looks at the power of small choices made on a daily basis, what science and contemporary culture say about human freedom and responsibility and how faith inhibits choice. Refreshments available from 7.45pm with the course itself running from 8-9.30pm. Copies of an accompanying book cost £5 and can be obtained beforehand. World Challenge: Josh Ranson from Wath is organising a collection of old clothes, bedding, curtains, soft toys, shoes, belts and handbags for Bag2TheFuture to raise funds so that he take part in the World Challenge trip to Costa Rica and Nicaragua organised through Ripon Grammar School where he is a pupil.
