A Thousand Kisses Deep: Masham Town Hall is very excited to be hosting BBC award winning vocalist Christine Tobin with Phil Robson on guitar and Dave Whitford on double bass, tonight. An evening of poetry and song, to celebrate the spellbinding words and music of Leonard Cohen. This evening, Thursday, November 22 at 7.30pm. Adults £10, children £6. Saint Mary’s Church Christmas Fair: Saturday, November 24 at St Mary’s Church, Masham, 10am-3pm. 36 stalls with an eclectic mix of Christmas goodies. £1 entry, children free.
Forest School at Bivouac: Forest School is an innovative educational approach to outdoor play and learning. Children learn about the natural environment, how to handle risk and most importantly to use their own initiative to solve problems and co-operate with others. It is run in the woods in all weathers (except for high winds), giving children the chance to learn and develop in a natural and fascinating surroundings. Come along on Sunday, November 25 to Bivouac, High Knowle, near Swinton, HG4 4JZ. Three to five-year olds from 10am-noon and 1-3pm for six to eight-year olds. £15 per child. The Restoration of Hackfall: is the title of Paul Mosley’s talk for Masham Local History Group at Masham Town Hall on Tuesday, November 27 at 7.30pm. Paul is the Hackfall Officer for the Woodland Trust who oversees the team of volunteers who work alongside the professionals restoring this ancient woodland. Paul will give an illustrated talk on the most recent work including the magnificent 20 foot waterfall. Non members are welcome and are charged £3 per meeting which includes refreshments. Kell Bank Primary School’s Faith Garden: Kell Bank School at Healey, near Masham are creating a faith garden and want to grow plants and flowers that will make it look beautiful. They are asking if anyone has lavender, iris, golden rod, bergamot, lily, hyssop, holly, variegated rose, chrysanthemum, compass or honey flowers to donate to their new garden. Short Walks in Masham: Age UK North Yorkshire supports volunteer walk leaders to deliver regular group walks for the over 50s around the Harrogate District. They would like to develop this further with a new regular group in Masham. If you are interested in volunteering to lead or assist with the walks then please get in touch.
