Masham Players: present the much awaited Calendar Girls at Masham Town Hall from Thursday to Saturday, November 15 to 17. Curtain up at 7.30pm. A comedy drama by Tim Firth, directed by Julie Prescott, based on the Miramax motion picture by Juliette Towhidi and Tim Firth. The story is based on the true story of how the friendship between a group of Yorkshire Women’s Institute members was tested when they posed for a highly successful nude calendar. Don’t delay in booking your tickets for what promises to be a first-rate, funny and moving show. Busking at the bar: at Bivouac, High Knowle, near Masham, HG4 4JZ on Friday, November 16. With his soulful beats and melodies Lewis Todhunter will be entertaining in the relaxed surroundings of the Bivouac café from 7.30pm onwards. Free entry but arrive early to avoid disappointment. Coffee, cakes and crafts: at Snape Village Institute on Saturday, November 17 from 10am-1pm. Coffee and mince pie on arrival (by donation). Cakes and books for sale, tombola, raffle and quality crafts stalls. Organised by Snape Textile Group in aid of Alzheimer’s Society. All proceeds from the event will be used for research into dementia.

Twitter Workshop: at Masham Town Hall on Tuesday, November 20 from 4.30-5.30pm. Feel like a twit because you can’t use twitter? Want to know how to really make twitter work for you? Come along to this one hour session - no jargon, no technical knowledge necessary - and we’ll show you what to do. Whether you love gossip, want to use it for business, to keep in touch with friends or just know what’s going on in the world, twitter is a great free tool. Movies in Masham: Some Like It Hot is the classic film showing on Tuesday, November 20 at 7pm at Masham Town Hall. Two musicians witness a mob hit and flee in an all-female band, but further complications set in. Marilyn Monroe, Jack Lemmon and Tony Curtis star in arguable the greatest film comedy ever made. Tickets can also be bought on the door on the night. Masham Photographic Club: are meeting at the Conference Room at the King’s Head Hotel, Masham on Tuesday, November 20 at 7.30pm. Pictures to Exe is the theme of Mark Greensit’s presentation. The club is having another AV competition at the end of the year and Mark is going to explain how to go about setting up an audio visual presentation. Non members are welcome to all meetings and a nominal charge of £3 is requested. Come along and give us a try.

A Thousand Kisses Deep: Masham Town Hall is very excited to be hosting BBC award winning vocalist Christine Tobin with Phil Robson on guitar and Dave Whitford on double bass. A wonderful evening of poetry and song is promised to celebrate the spellbinding words and music of Leonard Cohen, with a few diversions to admire fellow Canadian songsmiths, Joni Mitchell & Rufus Wainwright.
