Jane Carlisle Bellerby Exhibition: at Blue Light Gallery, 7 Little Market Place, Masham, Ripon HG4 4DY, Thursday, November 21 10am-3pm. As an artist Jane specialises in hand-painted silk collage depicting elements of nature, stylised landscapes and ancient monuments. Compositions are developed through walking and exploring, photography and sketching and common themes reappear – wild moorland, white horses, standing stones against stormy skies and unusual rock formations. Masham Local History Group: Beatrix Potter and the Two World Wars at Masham Town Hall. Tuesday, November 26 7.30-10.30pm. Presented by Dr Peter Liddle. An illustrated talk on the renowned children’s author and illustrator, farmer, judge of Herdwick sheep, National Trust benefactor and her documented reaction to experiencing the World Wars. Non-members are charged £3 per meeting and everyone is very welcome.
