Food for Thought Lent Supper and Talk: Rev David Cleeves will be talking about his recent sabbatical tonight, Thursday, February 28 at the Masham Sports Pavilion at 7pm. His title is Pottering in Europe with a Purpose - Reflections on my Sabbatical. Rev Cleeves’ talk will include his time during Holy Week, Spanish festivals in Andalucia, visits to major pilgramage sites including Lourdes and Santiago de Compostella, and secular places of pilgrimage including Oradour sur Glane and the Normandy beaches. Women’s World Day of Prayer: is on Friday, March 1 at Masham Methodist Church at 1.45pm for 2pm. The speaker is Rev Caroline Falkingham and the theme is Praying for France. Reeth Brass Band Charity Concert: at St Mary’s Church, Masham on Friday, March 1 at 7.45pm. Under 16s are free and adult tickets cost £5. Movies in Masham: the film showing on Tuesday, March 5 at 7.30pm is Senna, an original and scintillating documentary about Brazilian Formula 1 driver Ayrton Senna. Enjoy the full cinema experience, also featuring historical films of Masham, wine and soft drinks, popcorn, sweets from Bah Humbugs and Brymor ice cream. WI meeting: the speaker from the Wensleydale Dairy will be Judy Brennand. Fashion show: this will be held at the mechanics’ institute on Friday, March 15. Women’s and children’s wear will be modelled and on sale. The bar will be open at 6.30pm and the fashion show begins at 7pm. There will be a raffle. Entry is free.
